Encore VFX Vancouver - Comp Supervisor

Encore VFX is an Emmy Award Winning Visual Effects Facility, providing outstanding visual effects work for television and motion picture projects. Some of our past or current projects include The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Insecure, Narcos, Riverdale, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Sense 8, American Gods, Magicians, etc.

Job Requirements:

 

·       3-5 years of comp lead or supervisory experience in film, episodic or commercial environments

 

·       Highly motivated and works well with other supervisory and production staff members and artists. 

·       Ability to provide clear direction to compositors, setting clear objectives, monitoring the process, progress and results.

·       Ability to find creative solutions by drawing on team talent and manage shot allocation to the appropriate skill set.

 

·       Responsible for the management of the compositing team on a per project basis, maintaining the highest level of creative quality for the compositing work as well as color continuity.

·       Ensure that all teams are working efficiently, productively and are on target to meet all milestones and deadlines.

·       High level of creative, aesthetic and technical abilities

 

·       Managing a team of artists on a technical and an aesthetic point of view; mentoring and guiding the artists to build a strong, cohesive team

 

·       Anticipate comp and team challenges; work with production to avoid and resolve such challenges

 

·       Setting up a show – color pipeline, representations, stereo (if appropriate), crewing

 

·       Ensuring deliverables are to the highest creative and technical standards 

 

·       Presenting work clearly in dailies and walkthroughs, taking direction and responding to the VFX supervisor appropriately and in a timely fashion

 

·       Evaluating artists’ skills and what identifying what areas in which they need to improve

 

·       Exercises close attention to detail

 

·       Being proactive with team members, production to ensure smooth delivery of work
