Storyboard Artist (Project Hire)

Lucasfilm Animation and creators of the Emmy award winning animation series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and the highly successful animation series “Star Wars: Rebels” are looking for a versatile Production Coordinator to join their production team.

Works with the Supervising Director and Episodic Directors to develop expressive and entertaining 3D previsualization for an Episodic TV Series. Translates either unfinished ideas or script pages into full scenes. Highly proficient at rendering imaginary scenes with little or no reference.

Responsibilities

• Illustrates, and completes 3D storyboards within production timelines.
• Pitches boards to directors and story crew; makes revisions as required.
• Collects visual references.
• Ability to come up with inventive ideas and story material.
• Willingness to rework material multiple times while keeping a fresh eye.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of cinematic techniques, language and shot composition required.
• Extensive training in and/or strong demonstrable understanding of the principles of art and film.
• Expertise in scene, shot, camera, and character composition is required.
• Experience working with high-end 3D Storyboard tools such as Maya desired.
• Highly proficient at rendering imaginary scenes with little or no reference.
• Proficiency in Photoshop required, as well as familiarity with Wacom tablet/pen.
• Demo reel and/or portfolio required.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's degree and 3-4 years in feature film or television production, or equivalent experience.
