POSITION SUMMARY:
West Studio seeks an exceptionally talented and
passionate Lead Concept Artist. Under the guidance of the Creative Director the Lead Concept Artist will collaborate with clients, internal and remote artists to ensure
the highest quality artwork while consistently meeting deadlines.
ESSENTIAL
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with the Creative Director, Art
Director, clients and artists to deliver the highest quality artwork
• Review and provide clear and consistent feedback to artists (many in
remote locations)
• Create paint-overs, notations and whatever is necessary to illustrate clear
feedback
• Provide final polish and review of artwork before delivery
• Work with clients to solve creative problems
• Communicate with clients via email, Skype and phone
• Research, and gather reference for artists and clients
• Work with internal production team to ensure client deadlines are met
REQUIRED SKILLS AND
CHARACTERISTICS:
• Minimum five years of professional art
experience, working on a wide variety of projects that demonstrate ability to
explore diverse ideas and styles
• Ability to lead in multiple disciplines and mediums
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects,
set priorities and meet deadlines and expectations
• Extensive portfolio displaying mastery of foundational skills including:
anatomy, perspective, color theory, composition, lighting, form language,
industrial design, atmospheric perspective, scale, focal point, etc.
• Strong understanding of both photorealism and artistic stylization
• Confident and articulate with superior communication skills
• Have a friendly and engaging personality and genuinely enjoys working with
artists
• A passion for concept art and the medium’s role in the creative development
of video games, film, television, commercials, graphic novels, etc.
• Art related college or university degree is a plus
• Experience working with remote artists is a plus
• 3D modeling experience is a plus
