Junior Associate Artist, Marketing (Temp)

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks a Junior Marketing Artist responsible for creating high quality AAA renders / screenshots and other marketing materials for high profile game title(s), under the direction of the Marketing Artist. This is an individual contributor position and requires a good understanding of lighting, composition, character weighting and posing, and all aesthetic sensibilities required in creating industry competitive marketing visuals.  In addition, candidate should have a strong understanding of current and next gen game pipelines and associated technology and software, including the Adobe suite of software. Knowledge of any 3D software such as Maya or C4d preferred.  A portfolio/demo reel demonstrating an ability to create high quality marketing materials and concept/illustrations is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of Art Director, compose high quality AAA screen shots for marketing campaign of high profile game. 
  • Transfer key marketing initiatives into high quality consumer facing visuals.
  • Communicate and problem solve with studio leadership, discipline leads and other members of the art team where applicable towards the creation of high quality AAA screenshots visuals.
  • Work with and suggest improvements to existing screenshot tools and pipeline.
Job Qualifications:
  • 0-1 years experience in the industry.
  • A core understanding of basic lighting.
  • A basic understanding of Unreal a plus.
  • Marketing illustration and concept experience a plus.
  • AA/BFA in a art related discipline preferred.
  • Strong background in traditional/fundamental art principles including: excellent color theory, composition, lighting, and realistic character posing skills
  • Solid understanding of anatomy
  • Wide understanding of lighting/rendering technologies.
  • Familiar with Maya (or a leading 3D modeling package ) , Photoshop and has the capacity to learn new tools, and artistic method.
  • Shows an able understanding of fundamental technical topics, capable of implementing them into their workflow to execute assignments.  
  • Excellent communication skills
