CTO

Description

The CTO is responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development. The CTO is the company top technology executive, playing an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth reporting to the Studio Director.

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Builds and maintains technology partnerships and external relationships
  • Build and manage a top-flight technology team (R&D, Pipeline and IT Departments) and oversee research and development, as well as project management
  • Provide visible leadership for the company within the technology community
  • Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape
  • Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for productions development and company operations
  • Serve as a bridge between management, production and technology teams to ensure a broad understanding of Studio-wide objectives and enable disciplined and proactive decisions regarding technology investments  
  • Helps to define and leads the implementation of technology strategy for the production, IT and R&D technology teams
  • Be able to effectively balance the immediate short-term production needs against long-term Studio strategic priorities.
  • Drive Technology teams to develop solutions that strengthen efficiency, revenue, quality, timeliness and cost efficiency while maintaining continual progress in creating new on-screen visuals
  • Develop and oversee long-range and annual operating and capital budget plans governing technology and business systems investments across the Studio

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience managing and developing high performance technical  teams in a senior management role within the animation industry
  • Experience defining and implementing development strategies  
  • Experience developing and improving CGi production pipelines
  • Experience managing an IT team, in the highly demanding animation production environment

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Deep understanding of the 3D animation film production process and workflow
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps
  •  Strong leadership experience in supporting business transformation, active collaboration, agility, technical excellence and the successful delivery of technology, infrastructure and process solutions through the management of matrix teams within a large organization.
  • Advanced level of English, oral and written. Spanish is a plus
  •  Degree in engineering, computer science or related field would be taken under consideration
