CG SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

The CG SUPERVISOR oversees the day-to-day operations of the show within the facility. He/she is responsible for ensuring clear communication between the client and the production team, and ensures production delivers on time and within the budget. Along with the VFX Supervisor, he/she is responsible for artistic cohesion with the client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary technical leadership on the show level. Hands-on troubleshooting, overall pipeline planning, workflow decisions
  • Ensure adequate pre-production and testing of new concepts/techniques prior to production
  • Conduct audits and advise Sr. Production staff of pipeline concerns; proactively design effective solutions for potential problems
  • Will be trained to work in Flowline, our Academy Award-winning, proprietary simulation software
  • Design/develop strong, efficient, and flexible CG pipelines for complex projects
  • Develop, research, and implement new techniques and methodologies into production pipeline, adding value to VFX produced at Scanline VFX

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • At least 6+ years leading live-action visual effects experience, on high profile feature films.
  • Demonstrates strong technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring and training large teams.
  • Pro-active problem solver who demonstrates a strong sense of creativity and respect for aesthetics
  • Command a broad knowledge of technologies including particle systems, rigging, image manipulation tools, scripting languages and shader systems
  • Exceptional artistic skills and organizational skills; understands how to prioritize the necessary tasks and assignments. 
  • Ability to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas clearly. (written + verbal)
  • Well rounded working knowledge of the technical and artistic aspects of live action and visual effects
  • Expert knowledge of Nuke required as well as integration; Shake, After Effects, Digital Fusion all a big plus
  • Experience in 3dsMax preferred.
  • Ability to take direction positively, work well within a team and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines
