Mid-level Software Engineer: Pipeline
Description
Could you be the Developer we want to join our global Pipeline team?
This group is responsible for creating the software which drives our
pipeline, from scene assembly and manipulation to automation, artist
tools and asset/data flow.
You will ideally have experience in the
visual effects/animation industry and have an ability to communicate
effectively with both technical and creative crew, and have demonstrated
your capability to operate independently as well as within a larger
team.
What you’ll get to do:
- Contribute to the development & maintenance of software used by artists in various craft departments
- Troubleshoot issues reported by production team and TD’s
- Communicate frequently with technical and creative crew
What you bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience developing in C++ and Python
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with the APIs of industry standard applications such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke etc
- Experience with SCM systems, and continuous build/integration and test environments
- Strong software design and engineering skills; familiarity with design patterns and their appropriate use
- Good planning and estimating abilities
- Good problem solving skills
- An ability to work in a collaborative environment, take direction and possess good communication skills
- Ideally a knowledge of USD (Universal Scene Description)
