Description
SCAD seeks a creative director for interactive services to lead concurrent interactive design projects from concept to implementation.
In this role, you will conceptualize, design and maintain elegant, yet always functional, comprehensive layouts for a wide variety of interactive experiences across all modern platforms — from websites to installations and emerging technologies. This includes collaborating with developers, the social media team and editorial staff, overseeing and evaluating the work of a team of UX and interactive designers, and using analytics to drive better campaign conversions through design.
Working with the internal UX team, you will translate strategy, information architecture, wireframes and business goals into production-ready assets with great attention to detail and creativity, solve for progressive enhancement and graceful degradation, and ensure design standards and responsive user interface patterns adhere to the interactive style guide.
Additionally, you will lead the design room in prioritizing tasks, provide constructive feedback, and inspire teams to accomplish their best work while being mindful of usability, web best practices and deadlines. This role also requires you to attend departmental staff meetings to discuss schedules, policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate possesses a solid understanding of all digital, responsive web, mobile and interactive design development processes and best practices, including HTML, CSS, browser capabilities and design constraints. You should demonstrate a passion for building user-friendly experiences and have an outstanding portfolio that includes examples of responsive design across multiple devices.
In addition to exceptional design and problem-solving skills, you should be able to clearly communicate design decisions to in-house teams, stakeholders and partners in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. Candidates should be comfortable sprint planning, and leading and collaborating with a team, and should also demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator or other design tools.
Requirements:
? Bachelor’s or master’s degree with five to eight years of professional web design, interactive media, mobile application design or related field design experience
? Experience in native app design, email design and experience prototyping preferred
? Experience in an agile, scrum, kanban or sprint workflow preferred
? Ability to read and produce wireframes is a plus; ability to mark up designs for developers preferred
