Professor of ESL for the SCAD Language Studio

Description

SCAD is an international university with locations on three continents, and students enrolled from more than 100 countries. At the SCAD Language Studio, the university’s center dedicated to the study of English as a second language, students advance their language fluency to effectively communicate both in and out of the classroom as they prepare for creative careers. The university’s ESL faculty provide students with an authentic studio learning experience that prepares them for future academic and professional achievements, such as recent top honors at the Walt Disney Imagineering 27th Imaginations Design Competition, the international Red Dot Design Awards and more.

SCAD ESL faculty foster an active and engaging learning environment as they guide students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to flourish in their respective studies. The ideal candidate has three to five years of teaching experience, including experience teaching students with a wide range of ESL levels.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, foreign language education or a related discipline
• Demonstrated teaching excellence at the post-secondary level strongly preferred
• Exemplary communication skills and experience engaging with a diverse student body
• Experience with curriculum development preferred
