As the Senior Designer, you will be responsible for developing game systems, controls and interfaces (as well as the other interactive elements of the project) in order to bring the vision into a playable experience. The Senior Game Designer must know how to work with stakeholders internally, externally and be comfortable working on new IP as well as established franchises where you have to maintain core experiences and as well as creating fresh experiences that fit the brand pillars.
Requirements
5+ years of game design experience, with some design experience related to AI or Gameplay Systems
At least 1 shipped AAA title, preferably for current gen consoles
Ability to speak to design processes and how to take a concept from ideation to software
Ability to concept the user experience for your feature, aid in the development of pre-visualization to communicate that vision, and then gain alignment on your direction with stakeholders
The ability to communicate and collaborate with Producers, Artists, and Engineers on a daily basis; strong presentation skills considered an asset
An understanding of gameplay flow and scripting
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Strong documentation skills and has experience with spreadsheets
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to translate game concepts into on-screen gameplay
Prior scripting or level design experience is not a requirement but a definite plus
Responsibilities
Take ownership over complex systems and make plans for how to implement it within game while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders (AI, Programming, Animation, Level Design, Narrative, and others) and driving development towards the vision
Standardize, document and communicate the systems to the game team and external stakeholders
Pro-actively participate to the production of prototypes in order to iterate and validate systems prior to starting production
Participate to the development of tools required to implement and adjust game systems in collaboration with Programmers and Level Design team
