Gameplay Animator

Description

We are looking for an Animator to work on our next exciting project.  As an Animator, you will interact directly with some of the best Artists, Designers, and Engineers in our industry.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of animation principles and an acute sense of timing and weight.

A successful Animator is expected to demonstrate a passion for developing high quality games and animations. You are self-motivated, open to learning and expanding your knowledge. 

 

Responsibilities:

·         Work with level team to develop animation for all aspects of level needs including gameplay, cinematic vignettes, and environmental animation.

·         Create high-quality animation based on motion capture performances and key frame animation to meet visual expectations.

·         Export and integrate animations, utilizing the proper export techniques and technical implementation guidelines into proprietary game engine.

·         Collaborate and communicate effectively with the development team.

·         Troubleshoot and problem solve to ensure that animation is properly in game, functioning within its mechanic/state as intended.

·         Report to the Lead Animator.

 

Requirements:

·         3+ years of animation experience.

·         Worked on 2 or more published title(s) as a character animator.

·         Experience creating realistic animation for human and non-human characters with an emphasis on acting performance.

·         Highly proficient in Maya - Experience with and proven ability in successfully creating, editing and implementing animation using Maya.

·         Thorough and solid understanding of animation theory and the principles of animation such as timing, weighting, performance, and poses.

·         Strong understanding and knowledge of character rigs, game animation pipelines, animation integration into game engines, and animation tools.

·         Ability to take direction and critique from Lead Animator to ensure consistent animation vision.

·         Effectively communicate and clearly express ideas and animation decisions with both the animation team and other disciplines, while being open to feedback.

·         Strong teamwork.

·         Continuous learner.

·         Strong passion for video games.

·         Experience with motion capture.
