Post-Production Support Technician

SCAD students are immersed in a creative studio environment where industry-standard technology and academic and professional instruction enable them to create award-winning media. SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced post-production support technician to sustain these amenities.

As a post-production support technician, you will work with the engineering manager on operations for the School of Digital Media and the School of Entertainment Arts across the Savannah campus, along with projects involving presentations and classroom audiovisual installations. The post-production support technician will assist with the setup, operation and repair of multi-cam television systems and media creation studios such as motion capture labs.

The post-production support technician is responsible for providing day-to-day support for production and post-production nonlinear editing systems, ensuring that audio systems are configured and operating correctly, and Avid-certified post-production support for film classes and systems administration for the ISIS 5000 server. The technician also gives input on the budget and procurement of new studio and post-production technology, recommending upgrades when necessary.

The ideal candidate has familiarity with film and television and post-production technology, notably Avid post-production workflow and information technology hardware, as well as prior experience managing projects, media assets file management, prioritizing digital media content workflow and troubleshooting technical and operational challenges. Candidates should have a strong technical and operational knowledge of digital video equipment, including various media codec file formats, digital cinema cameras, routers, signal converters and other post-production-related equipment.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in film, television, electronics, or related digital media field
- Minimum of two years of industry experience as a television station technician, digital media service technician, hybrid artist or technician in professional film and television productions
- Electronic maintenance skills, including installation of specialized electronics components, simple electronics circuit repairs and basic knowledge with systems
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and apply application, firmware and program updates in both Mac and Windows platforms
- Experience in assessing applied technologies while researching new technology for post-production environments
