Previs Artist

Description

Job Summary

The Previs artist will work with the Directors and the previs & layout supervisor to create sequences of shots through camera, staging and rough blocking. You will create shots from existing storyboards or create new shots based on the Directors vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create suquences of shots that tell a story through camera, staging and rough blocking.
• Work with existing storyboards or create new shots and camera coverage based on the Directors vision.
• Ensure continuity and support other asset departments such as Art, Modeling and Editorial.
• Identify possible creative or technical issues and help find solutions.
• Create previs models, basic fx and any other assets required for the previs process.
• Implement improvements/changes based on review from Supervisor/Director.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

• Good knowledge of film language in regards to camera, lenses, editing and visual storytelling.
• Good knowledge of cinematography principles
• Expertise in Autodesk Maya.
• Basic 3D model building skills required.
• 1-4 years previs production experience.
