POSITION OVERVIEW
The Studio Pipeline TD manages, supports and enhances
the infrastructure that facilitates the studio’s technical processes and
workflow for all projects.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Has a complete understanding of artist workflows.
- Develops and maintains the structure and integrity of the workflow and pipeline.
- Develops and maintains the workflow of a CG crowd system both in-house and with outsource vendors.
- Oversees the smooth, secure, and cost-effective flow of creative materials and other data between Los Angeles and Vancouver studios, and all third-party vendors.
- Delivers creative, innovative and effective technical solutions that are sustainable and expandable.
- Sets and adheres to best practices for data management, security and digital file management protocols.
- Creates scripts, utilities and plug-ins that allow for enhancements of in-house tools and automation of specific tasks, etc.
- Maintains accurate and detailed documentation for all coding development utilizing industry best practices.
- Works with production to hit delivery deadlines within schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Attends regular production and departmental meetings, providing updates to progress on initiatives and informing show supervisors of problems that come up on a timely basis.
- Provides rapid-response technical support, training and mentoring to production teams as needed.
- Interprets and implements notes and feedback from the studio’s editors, directors and producers in a timely and qualitatively acceptable way.
- Proactively manages IT contractors and/or employees with respect to operating, maintaining, supporting and enhancing the pipeline.
- Maintains contacts with academia/industry to keep current on new research and competitor developments. Reads relevant journals and technical articles.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- 6+ years of experience working in a studio production environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong background in 2D animation, CG Animation and/or Visual Effects.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Storyboard Pro, Maya, 3DS Max, and other high-end software.
- Experience developing pipelines and toolsets with Python, Shotgun, JS
- Experience with Adobe product SDKs
- Experience with Crowd Simulation tools and workflows
- Experience maintaining a Shotgun deployment
- Experience working in Windows and Mac based environments
- Acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge and ability in the relevant fields.
- Exceptional communicator that practices attentive and active listening. Positively incorporates feedback and direction received from fellow team members.
- Adaptable to change, he/she can alter course of action quickly per production needs. Highly motivated, pro-active, terrific work ethic and positive attitude is a must.
