Look Development Artist

Description

CoSA VFX is looking for a Los Angeles-based Look Dev Artist with 2+ years’ experience. This opportunity is focused on designing and implementing visual effects based on client concepts, ensuring that the final rendered look of the production’s environments, props, & characters achieve the artistic vision.




Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Westworld, Gotham, The Orvilleand Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a full slate of prominent shows for the upcoming season. Successful CoSA staff are passionate about providing high-levels of organization and demonstrated ability to understand when to act and when to seek advice. Applicants with strong communication skills- verbal and written along with a proactive attitude and sense of humor are greatly valued.




RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret client requests and develop techniques to achieve visual effect.
• Create setups that allow a team of artists to efficiently apply a look / feel across shots / sequences.
• Composite photo-real visual effects shots when necessary.
• Implement fast, effective solutions to shot production challenges, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.




REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years utilizing Substance Painter and Red Shift in a production environment
• Experience in both 2D and 3D visual effects.
• Skilled in solving creative problems using efficient techniques, share ideas with teammates, and iterate rapidly based on client notes.
