Buck Design - CG Lead / Senior Lighter

We are seeking a proactive, motivated and organized CG Lead with senior lighting skills to join our young and growing Sydney studio.

Candidates should have 3 years proven experience in a senior Lighting role and minimum of 5 years general production experience in an animation/design environment.  A strong, measurable track record in delivering against department goals and targets, and have great communication skills with the ability to work interactively with others and be comfortable communicating at all levels of the company. 

Advanced knowledge in animation, lighting animation scenes, rendering animation and compositing, preferably in software: Maya, VRAY, Nuke.

You will enjoy a collaborative working relationship with Creative Directors/Art Directors and Production alike, and take the assessing and evaluating of project budgets, resourcing and scheduling requirements in your stride.

Your main role will be to supervise and managing multiple 3D projects - tasks include but are not limited to;

• Using aforementioned software, code, design and creating technical approaches to render animation.

• Problem solving creative solutions with Creative Director/Art Directors within the existing production framework;

• On box lighting, look development, compositing and colour grading;

• Managing CG schedule and task allocation for 3D teams;

• Prioritizing quality of work whilst ensuring timelines and budgets are kept on track;

• Assist production in resourcing freelance and staff team positions;

• Manage and generate outputs for various resolutions and platforms – high res OOH, TV, online, social media.

• Manage and implement workflow/pipeline solutions – thinking strategically and working closely with Head of 3D and Research & Development continually identifying areas for improvement.

• Mentoring and developing all members of the 3D department on an individual and collective basis.

• Attending production and creative meetings, and meeting clients when required.
