The Department of Film, Animation
and New Media within the College of Arts and Letters at The University of Tampa
invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August
2019 to teach in the area of 3D Animation.
The University of Tampa is a
medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200

dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse

Our courses focus on digital
illustration, 3D modeling and printing, character development, foundations and
history of 3D Animation, rigging, project planning and development, pre/post
production, asset creation, and storytelling. The position is a 3/3 load with
the expectation of an active, creative scholarship in the field, service to the
institution and working with students.
An MFA or other terminal degree is
required. We seek someone with a professional knowledge of Maya or Blender; a
basic knowledge of MEL/Python/C# and/or C++; basic motion capture knowledge;
experience in visual effects, compositing, and keying; a functional knowledge
of Adobe After Effects or Nuke; a keen interest in Extended Reality (XR),
Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). An
interest in Magic Leap / Oculus /Unity3D / Unreal Engine development is
desireable, but not required.

links are acceptable for the time based component of the application, one page
Creative Statement, one page Teaching Philosophy, at least 20 recent student
samples (if time based, max 5min reel of projects, single YouTube or Vimeo
links are encouraged), Curriculum Vitae with professional and academic
experience, 500 words maximum biography, link to personal website, 1500 word
maximum letter of intent.
