Animation, Assistant Professor
Description
The School of Communications at Webster University invites
applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Animation in
the Department of Electronic & Photographic Media, to begin August 2019.
The position requires expertise in industry standard 2D
animation software, armature based animation, teaching experience,
professional/industry experience, and creative or professional accomplishment;
experience in related areas including game engines, compositing, and 3D animation
will be beneficial. The position
requires a master’s or higher degree in animation, fine arts, technical
direction, or related areas; an MFA or Ph.D. in the relevant fields is
preferred. The ideal candidate will have solid animation principles, embrace
experimental approaches, be current with industry trends, and be versed in
historical currents.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate
courses as appropriate and advise
students in Animation and related areas, provide faculty
service, and engage in professional development, including scholarship and creative activity.

the continued revision and design of the animation program to ensure the
maintenance of industry relevant courses and content, and be both collaborative
and entrepreneurial, with skills, experience, and connections that complement
