Art Director

The Art Director is a creative and strategic thinker who directs communications in both print and interactive platforms. Projects include the collaborative creative planning of campaigns, publications, ads, signage, signature events, and interactive design of microsites, HTML communications and projects within The Art Director is a decisive self-starter and problem solver who supervises a design team in the day-to-day management of projects, creative direction and approvals. The Art Director handles design work of their own when needed, and effectively balances time spent designing and providing feedback on subordinates’ work.

Areas served by the Art Director include all academic programs, academic services, student success, awards and rankings, athletics, SCAD Hong Kong, SCAD Lacoste, eLearning, career and alumni success, SCADFILM, Alumni Atelier and more. Events include SCAD Savannah Film Festival, SCADFILM festivals, career fairs, orientation, Summer Swarm, Commencement, Sand Arts Festival, Sidewalk Arts Festival, Family and Alumni Weekend and more.

• Bachelor’s degree in advertising, design or other applicable field; 5 years minimum experience in design 
• A dynamic portfolio that demonstrates the range required
• Proficiency in all programs included in Adobe Creative Suite and expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and presentation design
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing a team
