Media Designer

Description

Designs and develops instructional media (graphics, audio, video, and interactive animation) to support online course content. Has primary responsibility for the aesthetic design of online courses.

• B.A. or B.F.A degree required. 
• Broad knowledge of web-based e-Learning and other new media applications 
• Strong facility with HTML 5, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and Dreamweaver 
• General competency with other media development and editing applications, including Acrobat Professional, and Final Cut Pro 
• Ability to manage projects to successful completion on time and on budget 
• Ability to work well in a team environment and to effectively interface with a variety of academic constituencies

Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned.

1. Creates and manages the aesthetic design of SCAD eLearning collateral material 
2. Develops SCAD eLearning content media, including still and motion graphics, audio, and video 
3. Develops compelling learning objects in a variety of hypermedia formats, including HTML and Quicktime
4. Provides programming for interactive course features, including navigation and embedded learning objects 
5. Develops interfaces that communicate with server-side databases for management of dynamic content
6. Assists with general post-production, content archiving, and course “retouching.”
