Professor of Computer Science

Biola University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank to participate in the Department of Math and Computer Science.

Responsibilities.  The academic load is 12 units per semester of undergraduate courses.  Depending upon expertise, it is anticipated that the candidate to join the growing Computer Science Program will assist in developing coursework in cybersecurity, computer graphics, web programming, or mobile application development, in addition to teaching existing courses related to software development.  There are also opportunities to collaborate with the newly formed School of Cinema and Media Arts in areas such as game design and programming.  Pursuit of individual and collaborative research is highly encouraged.

Qualifications.  Candidates with a Ph.D. in Computer Science are preferred.  Candidates with a M.S. degree in Computer Science with strong industrial experiences may be considered.  The candidate must possess a commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, with a dedication to outstanding teaching, scholarship, and service. Excellent communication skill and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is essential, along with a strong Christian commitment and interest in the integration of faith with learning.
