Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are an MFA or equivalent. Evidence of successful teaching is required,
preferably in the areas of Animation & Visual Effects.
Preferred qualifications include experience with a diverse
student body similar to that at NMSU, guiding animation students through short
animation productions.
Job Description:
The Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University
seeks an Animator with a Generalist skill set to add to our faculty. An ideal candidate will be a
performance-based artist with the ability to apply traditional animation
principles in a 3D workspace. Faculty
member will demonstrate proficiency in the following: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, strong drawing
skills, Shot/Sequence design, Acting/Performance, Human Anatomy,
Biped/Quadruped locomotion, Dynamics/Physics Animation.
An example of classes includes: Storyboarding, Foundations of 3D Animation,
Acting/Voiceover, Rigging, Character Animation, Motion Capture.
Other responsibilities include serving on departmental
committees, curriculum development, student recruitment and mentorship.
