UI Art Director

We are working on cutting-edge VR/MR/AR virtual production films and experiences which allow people to connect deeper to the world in order to feel touched, inspired, educated, and entertained. We are seeking an experienced UI Art Director to lead our team in creating cutting edge content for next generation hardware on real time and pre-rendered platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and motivate art teams to deliver their best work and provide effective and constructive feedback

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional design team in the conception, design, and execution of visual materials

  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple teams such as engineering and production to guide the products’ visual progress from beginning to end and deliver world-class visuals

  • Work closely with production to ensure schedules and plans meet business and project needs

  • Identify risks and strategic opportunities and clearly communicate them to your team and management

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in computer-generated art

  • Expert at using 3D Art tools such as Maya, ZBrush, 3ds MAX, Vray, Substance Designer/Painter and 3D Coat

  • Proficiency in: physically based rendering, lighting, shading, environment and character design, FX, performance analysis, and graphics content optimization

  • Strong foundation in Graphic design and typography

  • Portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for artistic and technical direction

  • Proven experience directing and supporting artists across multiple art disciplines

  • Experience working in Unity Game Engine (additional experience in Unreal is a plus)

  • Minimum of 3 console titles shipped, from concept to final

  • Outstanding communication skills and being able to lead via influence

Would Be Nice:

  • Love of video games and knowledge about industry trends and innovations

  • Working knowledge of programming languages like C++ or C#

  • Past experience working with VR/AR

  • Motion graphics design experience
