Description
Are you interested in managing a team of rotomation artists? We are looking for a Lead Rotomation artist
who is available in April.
What you’ll get to do:
·
Work on complex rotomation shots, and trouble shoot other technically
challenging shots.
·
Mentor and provide technical and creative instruction to the team.
·
Manage the assets created by the team, so to insure successful
delivery to other departments.
·
Animate props and character rigs to match live action plates, through
various camera perspectives.
·
Bring to the team your knowledge and skills to determine correct 3D
spatial positions and motion across a wide range of objects.
·
Work closely with your supervisor to provide realistic true to life
animation, focusing on the relevant shot briefed requirements.
·
Mentors less experienced digital artists.
·
Understands the overall brief and goals of a project and communicates
this clearly to each member of the team.
·
Delegates work responsibly to ensure successful completion of shots
across team members of all skill levels.
·
Drives team reviews and will offer creative/technical feedback on
reviewed shots.
·
Perform daily one-on-one rounds with artists.
·
Communicates production information to both the artists group and
Production Management.
·
Participates in production pipeline problem solving.
·
Documents new techniques and distributes updates to peers, crew and
Production Management.
·
Prioritise and break down a project into organized parts.
·
Support open communication between your department, R&D and all AL
departments.
·
Work with the Supervisor or production team to prepare bids and
pitches as required.
·
Participate in the recruiting and interview process for new employees
as required.
·
Assist Production Management in preparation of final show reports as
required.
What you bring:
·
6 + years’ experience on feature films, TV and/or animated feature
·
4 + years’ experience in 3D Rotomation
·
1+ years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory role
·
Demonstrates solid Knowledge of Maya
·
Extensive use of character and prop rigs
·
In-depth understanding of 3D space and virtual cameras
·
Able to work unsupervised
·
High level of attention to detail
·
Experience using 3D Equalizer
·
Ability to mentor and train junior artists
·
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
·
Excellence in problem solving and balancing quick turnaround with long
term quality.
·
Excellent attention to detail
·
Strong communication skills and the ability to efficiently organise
and prioritise work across multiple areas.
·
Proven experience in inspiring, mentoring, and motivating a team.
·
Ability to effectively work and
communicate with all personality types.
The following would be
considered a bonus
·
Python scripting
