Head of UTS Animal Logic Academy

Established in 2017, the UTS Animal Logic Academy is a custom built, award-winning educational digital production (or Animation and VFX) studio and teaching facility at the UTS campus in Sydney, offering a Master of Animation and Visualisation (MAV) and PhD research opportunities. Current research projects have already won awards at industry festivals, covering areas as diverse as hybrid CG/motion-control film-making, digital archiving techniques, and real-time music visualisation.he Academy forms part of the broader Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation.Graduates have gone on to work for Method Studios, Flying Bark, Animal Logic, and in 2018 their work has already been recognised with awards from The Rookies, Autodesk Shotgun and the AEAF.

Our Role

Our new Academy Head will:

•  lead the development and execution of a strategy that builds long-term investment, engagement, participation and support
•  shape the ongoing vision, direction and priorities of the UTS Animal Logic Academy Program
•  promote and enhance the University's reputation as a leader in the creative industries and drive the University's creative agenda           forward
•  mentor a high-performing team

What capabilities do you need to demonstrate?

•  Leadership - delivering compelling and inspiring leadership, delivering an integrated Academy with strong links to industry

•  People management - leading and fostering collaboration and teamwork, coaching and mentoring staff, providing development opportunities

•  Operational management - delivering strategic budget planning, budget analysis and modelling

•  Relationship building - representing UTS and the Animal Logic Academy to a range of stakeholders, internally and externally

•  Vision - meeting the visionary creative intelligence and innovation objectives of the University

General Management experience in the design, animation, VFX or emerging technology industries will be considered highly desirable

Remuneration

A competitive and comprehensive remuneration package will be offered, including 17% superannuation (pension).

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 24 months.
