Description
Are you an Assistant VFX Editor interested in working on Peter Rabbit 2?! The Assistant Editor is responsible for supporting the shot departments and maintaining the integrity of the edits. You will be ingesting shots and conforming edits as well as outputting scene deliveries and reference edits to production.
What you’ll get to do:
- Manage the shot plate assets workflow form initial ingest, database tracking to the communicating shot level detail to production and VFX departments.
- Publish scene edits to production
- Create change lists & scene change reports
- Communicate any relevant information regarding the placement/changes to shots in the edit to production teams.
- Troubleshoot shot queries from production
- Manage Avid Media
- Maintain Avid project structure
- Ingest and conform media
- Update edits with the latest production shots
- General Exporting and delivery of files as required
- Prepare sequences for internal review and client deliveries
- Run internal crew and supervisor screenings
- QC of VFX returns and edit sequences
- Ensure Edit Tools are functioning correctly and reporting any issues
- There is also an opportunity to take creative initiative with the creative cutting of internal crew screening reels.
What you bring:
- 2 + years’ experience on feature films, TV and/or animated feature
- 3 + years’ experience in Editorial
- Solid understanding of Avid MediaComposer
- Strong understanding of film / VFX project setups and workflows
- An ability to quickly acquire a working understanding of industry software and customized tools
- Knowledge of both technical and creative editing skills
- A solid understanding of technical aptitude with media file formats, audio monitoring and editing tools
- Ability to work cohesively, efficiently and positively within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem solve and handle quick turnarounds
- Excellent attention to detail
- Accurate and proactive attitude
- Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work while remaining calm under pressure
- A solid understanding of technical aptitude with media file formats, audio monitoring and editing tools
