Background:

As part of Hasbro Entertainment, Boulder Media is building a new feature animation division. We are excited to offer a talented Linux Sys Admin the opportunity to join our very successful and established animation studio as we expand into a new area. We will be producing the first CG theatrical feature film made entirely in Ireland. The movie is based on a very well-known Hasbro property and we can’t wait to bring it to the big screen for the first time.

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be working with a bunch of other enthusiastic developers, artists, and technicians to build a modern feature animation production!

Responsibilities

  • CentOS 7x deployment, configuration, and maintenance / supporting a site of over 150 users
  • Deployment of software and configuration management using SaltStack
  • To administer and perform basic tasks on a VMWare vSphere cluster environment
  • Interoperability of Linux CentOS 7 and Windows AD
  • Proactively monitoring of all systems for faults/alerts
  • Promoting IT security practices to all staff in the Hawkins St office
  • To rigorously follow all directives from Hasbro to enforce IT policies
  • To work alongside Hasbro IT and the IT Team in Boulder’s Sandymount office
  • Work with the pipeline team to resolve production issues.
  • To report into IT Manager in Dublin on a weekly basis.
  • Periodically undertake projects and implementations of new systems and deployments of software
Skills
  • Must have - Advanced understanding of the Linux systems is absolutely essential. Candidate needs 5 – 10 years of  experience with Red Hat / CentOS environment; RHCE certification desirable
  • Must have – Scripting experience (Python or Bash)
  • Advantage– configuration management systems (SaltStack desirable)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Understanding of file sharing protocols (NFS, CIFS, SMB, NTFS)
  • Experience in VMWare administration
  • Experience with monitoring software (Nagios)
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • IT security certification would be desirable but not essential
  • Experience in server room maintenance: UPS monitoring, server racking, cable management
  • Knowledge of Dell EMC storage systems (Isilon, Compellent)
