Asst. Prof. Simul. Science, Gaming and Animation

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ invites applicants for a faculty position in our Simulation Science, Gaming and Animation Program.  Successful candidates will demonstrate technical, programming, and critical-thinking expertise as it relates to Game Design, matched by a complementary ability to teach.

Ideal candidates will have teaching and creative development experience in several of the following areas: game software development, graphics processing, game engine architecture, digital game production and design - structure, formal elements, level design, game mechanic, systems design, etc.

The candidate must exhibit excellent teaching and scholarly credentials and be passionate about undergraduate education. Intellectual curiosity and work well with multi-disciplinary team cooperating on productions, course design, and curriculum development as it relates to developing immersive real-time experiences and simulations.

 

Embry-Riddle is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona. Faculty/student interaction is highly valued and is a central theme of our campus. This position is part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Prescott is one of the most desirable locations in the Southwest.  At 5000 ft. above sea level, it boasts a mild climate, clean air, pristine wilderness areas, and nearby national forests. It is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field, Master of Science in Computer Science or closely related field will be considered.

Interested candidates should be proficient as a Unity Programmer/Engineer/Developer - requires C# (C sharp) programming. They should be knowledgeable of programming in languages necessary for graphics processing/game engine architecture/interactivity. Candidates should have a substantial background in computer programming and computer science.
