Pipeline TD

Overview

CoSA VFX is looking for Vancouver based Pipeline Technical Director.   A successful candidate will be highly motivated, eager to learn and love problem solving while projecting a helpful, patient and accommodating demeanor. CoSA pipeline staff are service-oriented and involved in the creation and ongoing support of a large high-end visual effects pipeline, asset/project management system as well as application tools and utilities.

Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Swamp Thing, Gotham, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Westworld.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Develop and maintain scripts, tools and utilities for CoSA’s studio

·       Work in and understand CoSA’s proprietary pipeline

·       Collaborate in the continued development and maintenance of the pipeline

·       Assist artists in technical issues such as software debugging or other pipeline related issues

·       Act as a point person for in-studio queries to the pipeline department

·       Identify workflow inefficiencies and work with artists and stakeholders to improve these inefficiencies

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Broad understanding of the VFX pipeline

·       Experience using and designing tools for Maya and/or Nuke; Houdini is a plus

·       Familiarity with web development, HTML, CSS, Javascript

·       Experience with Python or other scripting language.

·       Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCES A PLUS:

·       Bash/cshell/Linux knowledge

·       Knowledge of render queuing software like Deadline

·       Experience as a 2D or 3D artist

·       Knowledge of non-relational databases likes MongoDB

·       Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computing Science

·       Knowledge of project management software (Ftrack and/or Shotgun)
