Description
Project: AVATAR sequels
This position is to lead a
team of generalists in the creation of a very detailed template of scenes that
will be turned over to a vendor for final completion. This will require leading scenes through
previs, preparation for motion capture, virtual camera capture, simulcam and
final shot preparation for turnover.
Candidate must be able to communicate direction and give notes both
creatively and technically. The
Supervisor must also have strong skills in presenting work and communicating
with Director and VFX Supervisor.
A positive and inspiring
attitude to meet the challenges of virtual production and to lead a team is a
must. The position requires
collaboration with many departments, artists and personalities, so strong
communication and people skills are preferred.
Ideal candidates will need
strong storytelling skills, sense of animation, camera, composition and a strong
cinematic eye. The work has a strong
leaning toward technical animation so strong technical animation experience and
skills are preferred.
Ideal candidates must be
able to learn and adapt to new tools and workflows as we are working at the
bleeding edge of virtual film production.
Candidates should be able to evaluate tools, workflows and artists with
an eye to finding where efficiencies can be implemented.
Experience supervising previs
or animation layout teams is preferred. Experience working with motion capture
animation and within a real time engine/game engine is also a plus.
The project is long term
and so we are looking for candidates who can commit to multiple years of work.

reel of their work along with their resume.
Candidates must be US citizens or Permanent Residence card (Green Card) holders.
Required:
· 5 years
VFX/Previs Experience.
· At least 1
year experience supervising a group of 5-10 artists.
· Flexibility;
this is a dynamic production environment.
· Ability
to give and follow technical and creative direction.
· Desire to
mentor and inspire less experienced artists.
Preferred:
· At least
1 year experience working in motion builder.
· Experience
working in virtual production.
· Experience
working on a large scale VFX film.
