Professor of Animation

Description

SCAD Savannah seeks a Professor of Animation to teach the art of story and concept development. In this role, you have the opportunity to share your creative passion and rich imagination to educate the animation industry of tomorrow.

Named the “Ivy League of Animation” by 3D World magazine, SCADmaintains its preeminence by staffing unrivaled faculty and departmental leadership. Under the leadership of SCAD animation professors, the university’s students win Annie Awards, College Television Awards and have films screened annually at the premier Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The ideal candidate has experience as a story or concept artist on feature films, or a minimum of seven years on multiple television series or shipped AAA titles. With strong drawing skills, they demonstrate stylistic versatility, the ability to caricature and design, a mastery of architectural and organic forms, a good color sense and a general knowledge of the CG process. College level teaching is preferred.

This is your chance to work with talented students within the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, a walkable, bikeable coastal city that provides a living laboratory for the study of art and design. 
Requirements:
• Terminal degree or its equivalent in animation or a related field
• Reel, website or flatbook with breakdown of your story work conveying an understanding of cinematic storytelling and visual design
• Reel, website or flatbook with breakdown of your past students’ work if relevant
• Experience with Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, Flix, Adobe Bridge, Maya
