The curriculum and instruction in the SCAD industrial design department cultivates highly motivated, visionary students who consider business challenges while creating, articulating and communicating innovative solutions that improve people’s lives. Advance these objectives as a full-time professor of industrial design at SCAD Savannah and prepare the next generation of creative leaders. SCAD seeks a talented engineer with in-depth knowledge of next-generation technologies to help prepare students in creating smart products and services to lead the future of design.
The ideal candidate is a creative, team-oriented professional with experience in prototyping robots and electric components for smart products. The candidate should have expertise in 3-D printing, programming Arduino boards and developing circuits for performing specific tasks.
This role requires an understanding of user-centered research, ideation, development, modeling and prototyping, a desire to mentor exceptional students and the ability to foster an active and engaging learning environment. A passion for interactive and immersive technologies and computers and how they integrate with products is essential.
Requirements:
- Terminal degree in electric or electronic engineering, robotics or computer science
- Professional experience documented through design work
