Freelance CG Generalist / FX Artist

Description

FX Networks is looking for talented freelance CG Generalists / FX Artists to join our team on a project specific basis. We are always seeking enthusiastic people who are passionate about creating visually stunning and technically challenging work.

The role will be to work alongside a core in-house team of experienced VFX Supervisors, Art Directors, Designers, and other CG Artists creating all types of CG / Visual Effects for high-end advertising projects, main titles, etc.

Ideal candidates for freelance positions possess deep knowledge and experience in multiple areas, including:

• 3D modeling, texturing & shading, lighting, rigging, animation, FX & simulation, and compositing
• Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Zbrush, Substance, Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Photoshop & After Effects), DaVinci Resolve, etc.
• Redshift (Primary Renderer), VRay, and Mantra

• Must be a solid generalist, able to work in multiple specialities as part of a strong core team
• Create visually stunning and photo-real visual effects across a diverse array of projects
• Assist with Look Dev, Pre-Viz, and R&D with the project supervisors and creative leads
• Ability to think outside-the-box and develop original, cutting-edge, high-production-quality work
• Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to complete high-quality work on time and to specification
• Be creative and proactive in executing and assisting on all shots in a sequence

• Proven and demonstrable experience in high-end CG with a strong reel/portfolio
• Work well in a team environment
• In-depth knowledge of CG techniques, workflow and software
• Houdini / FX Generalists with experience in Redshift strongly preferred.
• Ability to work on-site at our offices in Los Angeles
