VFX Production Coordinator

CoSA VFX, Inc. is looking for a Vancouver-based VFX Coordinator for its busy Terminal Ave. studio.  Successful candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a VFX Coordinator in episodic television or feature films. 

Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative production environment. Recent projects include Swamp ThingPennyworthLucifer, Westworld and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Successful CoSA staff are passionate about providing high-levels of organization and demonstrated ability to understand when to act and when to seek advice.  Applicants with strong communication skills- verbal and written along with a proactive attitude and sense of humor are greatly valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Project Management 
    • Take thorough and clear notes during dailies sessions 
    • Organize the shots for review with multiple locations during session
    • Assist the team in maintaining focus for a timely and effective session
    • Assess shot tracking assignments and their impact on delivery dates, assure status is up-to-date
    • Maintain shot production databases and documents, ensuring an efficient production process
    • In conjunction with scheduling coordinators, oversee the movement of shots between departments
    • Assure questions from producers and other stakeholders are answered and potential issues flagged for discussion when necessary
    • Help facilitate the IO process for assigned shows
  • Client Relations 
    • Respond quickly and thoroughly to client requests, via email or phone
    • Take and distribute clear, concise client notes from in-person meetings, calls, virtual production sessions, and reviews
  • Teamwork: 
    • Mentor production assistants and interns
    • Provide back up to other production coordinators when needed
    • Act as a bridge between the production teams and other creative departments to facilitate the smooth operation of projects and studio at large

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years as a VFX coordinator in episodic television, film or commercial projects
  • Hands-on experience with file transfer technologies such as Aspera and FTP
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proven ability to create detailed, comprehensive notes during dailies and client meetings
  • Familiarity with shot-tracking software; F-track a plus
