The Digital Librarian will work collaboratively with Lightstorm Entertainment’s Franchise Development team and Production staff responsible for asset management for Avatar to conduct day-to-day ingestion, description, organization and migration of digital assets needed to support the work of the Franchise team and the four sequel films in development. This position will maintain all Franchise content (images, 3D models, publicity and marketing materials, licensee submissions, etc.) and associated metadata in the company’s proprietary digital asset management system, and will help streamline processes of tagging, metadata cleanup, and asset tracking optimization of information across departments. This role is key to the ongoing development of the proprietary system and its infrastructure and will help ensure the long-term development, cataloging and maintenance of the Franchise Development team’s digital assets, while simultaneously collaborating on projects to optimize use of the system across the entire production pipeline.
Position reports to the Creative Operations Manager and the President, Franchise Development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in library and information science, archive management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years of practical experience with demonstrated expertise in database management and asset cataloging
- Experience organizing extensive collections of information
- Strong understanding of creation and use of digital assets in content development and/or licensing and proven expertise with digital asset management systems
