VFX Supervisor

FuseFX is seeking an experienced and talented VFX Supervisors with a background in television and/or feature film VFX to join our creative team.

The VFX Supervisor is responsible for directing projects from conception through completion. The VFX Supervisor is the main liaison between our clients and our production team. This role will lead and collaborate directly with our VFX Producers, Compositing Supervisors, and CG Supervisors on multiple projects.

FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual productions, and VR. Founded in 2006, the company employs 800+ personnel across eight studio locations and three brands. Our flagship studio is in Los Angeles, CA, with locations in New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota studios are serviced by FOLKS VFX, who joined FuseFX in 2020. The Adelaide, Australia studio is serviced by Rising Sun Pictures, who joined FuseFX in 2021.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-set supervision for acquisition of plates and VFX elements
  • Maintain and foster creative collaboration with our clients
  • Inspire confidence through strong communication skills and a mastery of visual effects techniques
  • Establish a strong presence during the pre-production process including but not restricted to VFX meetings, tech scouts, production meetings
  • Break down scripts and work with our VFX production team on the budgeting process
  • Lead and guide the VFX production team from development to shot production
  • Attend shot reviews and provide constructive feedback to the VFX production team by effectively communicating creative and technical goals
  • Partner with business development to build new client relationships
  • Encourage and maintain the creative and collaborative culture of FuseFX

Traits of a successful FuseFX VFX Supervisor:

  • Strong leadership capabilities to guide the client and the VFX production team
  • Experience navigating the production environment including communication and collaboration with all departments
  • Critical eye for detail and a strong aesthetic sensibility, with the ability to communicate visual ideas to the team
  • A visual storyteller with a passion for applying visual effects in film making
  • Knowledge of real-world photography and camera techniques with an understanding of lighting principles and color theory
  • A perpetual student with an eye towards the future for visual effects
  • Working knowledge of the visual effects pipeline
  • Excellent problem solver who is comfortable navigating through stressful environments
  • Strong technical familiarity with all the visual effects techniques
