Lightstorm Entertainment is a feature film production company creating movies heavily utilizing AR/VR/MR techniques in the LA area. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on the set of a major motion picture production.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research and implement new solutions, as well as learn and provide support for our existing pipeline tools.
  • In this role you will design, prototype, develop, implement, troubleshoot, document, core pipeline applications, tools, APIs and services.
  • Communication skills are critical, as you will interface with our existing team of developers, artists and production personnel.
  • You should be able to write clean, maintainable, highly functional, and portable code.
  • You will also be responsible for testing and documenting the applications, code and tools you create and maintain.


Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science / Graphics Programming or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Linux, Python
  • Experienced with PySide or PyQt
  • Skilled with C/C++, and build systems (ie. GNU Make, Cmake).
  • Knowledge of source control tools (ie. SVN, GIT, Hg).
  • Competent using issue tracking software (ie. Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Experience with the Qt UI tooolkit
  • Worked with graphics APIs  such as OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA.
  • Knowledge of the Maya, Nuke, and MotionBuilder APIs.


Desirable Experience

  • 3D software: Maya, Motionbuilder.
  • Compositing software: Nuke
