Assistant Technical Director

Description

SCAD seeks an Assistant Technical Director to organize and supervise the Department of Production Design scene shop, prop shop, and lighting shop.

In this position, you will be responsible for building material and tool inventory control and maintenance; scheduling and supervising all work-study employees and practicum students during shop builds and load-in of shows; coordinating and designing, along with the technical director, all shop safety training sessions for both work-study employees and practicum students; and supervising compliance with all SCAD and OSHA safety regulations including the updating of all shop safety manuals and the shop MSDS manual.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in performing arts technology or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of CAD drawing, carpentry, welding, construction techniques for the performing arts, painting, and rigging
