POSITION:
Assistant Professor of Digital Design - Tenure Track: at Lycoming College, beginning August 2020. Lycoming College is a four-year, private liberal arts college dedicated to the undergraduate education of 1,200 students. The college has a vibrant residential community and is located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a city of approximately 30,000 in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania near the banks of the Susquehanna River, which offers ample opportunities for cultural entertainment and outdoor recreation. The well-established Fine Arts Program combines a rigorous fine arts foundation curriculum with traditional studio, digital design and art history courses in a liberal arts environment. Teaching load is three courses per semester.

 

Candidate will be responsible for digital art and 2-D animation courses for both fine art and commercial purposes. The art department is interested in expanding our course offerings to include either 3D animation courses or video game design courses, depending on the experience and interest of the successful candidate who will also advise students, manage a budget and oversee our digital lab.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
MFA and
an active exhibition history with a sustained creative research practice in area of specialization. Priority will be given to artists who can teach a range of skills, including digital and innovative approaches; value an experimental and expansive outlook on artmaking; possess a broad understanding of either the animation field and/or video game design.
