The Video Applications group develops leading media creation apps including Final Cut Pro X, iMovie, Motion, and Clips. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to focus on the design, implementation, and maintenance of technologies that integrate Final Cut Pro with other 3rd-party tools used in creative arts, television, and film. Be a member of this specialized team whose work directly impacts Final Cut Pro’s adoption and success as a leading tool for video and audio editing.

 

Key Qualifications:
•7+ years of commercial software development experience
•Fluency in macOS and AppKit platforms and technologies
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Experience and familiarity with: API design and evolution, data modeling, XML-based data formats, and inter-process communication (such as Apple events and XPC)

Description:
Do you have prior experience with API design, a solid understanding of Objective-C, and excellent verbal & written communication skills? Then you should explore this dynamic role where you will make key contributions to one of Apple’s flagship applications. In this capacity, you will define and build new APIs & services, maintain and enhance the FCPXML data interchange format, and provide technical support to external developers who use these technologies. You will collaborate with product designers and quality engineers to build specifications and test plans, write unit tests to validate your work, deliver high-quality results on schedule, and contribute to technical documentation & sample code.

Education:
Bachelor of Sciences degree in Computer Science or related field; Masters preferred
