Senior VFX Producer

Rising Sun Pictures is currently accepting applications from Senior VFX Produces.  Applicants will have an established track record working on high quality VFX film projects and managing VFX from initial bid, planning and scheduling resources and working with the team to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget.  Experience with Streaming and Episodic work is also desirable.

Employment period: This is a long-term position, ideally with an immediate start. The start date may be influenced by timing and logistics.
Location: Adelaide, Australia. This position is open to Australian and international applicants. Visa and relocation assistance is available
if required.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the EP and in close collaboration with the VFX Supervisor, the Snr VFX producer will develop and maintain strong client and internal relationships.  This includes setting milestones, managing client expectations and supporting the technical and creative crew to bring the visual effects in on budget and on schedule to the clients’ satisfaction.

 Responsibilities

  • Bid work with the Sales team and Supervisors, maintaining change orders as scope varies.
  • Work with the Executive Producer, Head of Production and Supervisors to ensure quality standards and protocols are adhered to.
  • Define the overall project scope and execution strategy with the VFX Supervisor.
  • Work with client and company to resolve any impasse which threatens to delay or impede project commitments or milestones.
  • Complete project risk assessments for new opportunities, assessing resource requirements, viability and the impact each show may have to existing schedules and employees workload.
  • Work with various Heads of Department and supervisors to ensure briefs are clear and well defined.
  • Create regular and accurate project reports, detailing the project’s financial and creative status to client and management.
  • Act decisively to quickly provide clarity and direction from a mass of project data.
  • Set and own client communication standards, adding value to the relationship through collaboration, providing assurance on all aspects of the project as required.
  • In concert with the Production Management team, produce and maintain and communicate show schedules, ensuring the delivery roadmap is clear, making adjustments as the project evolves.
  • Create mitigation strategies to reduce risk, impact, severity and reoccurrence of issues.
  • Lead by example. Manage and mentor peers and members of the production team, cultivating an environment of professionalism and accountability. Foster an environment where people are engaged, valued, effective and always clear on expectation.

Required skills and experience

  • 5+ years VFX Producer experience across feature films.
  • Proven strategic and project management experience across all areas of visual effects; including pre, shoot and post.
  • Clear and methodical planning and communication with artists, supervisors and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of professionalism and control within a pressurised, time-sensitive working environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Shotgun.
  • Clear understanding of all aspects of the VFX workflow.
  • Knowledge of MS Project preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Word and Excel.
  • Must be fluent in English, spoken and written.
