Animation Faculty, Full-Time Lecturer

Job Description

The College of Media and Entertainment’s Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) lecturer who can teach animation courses. This is an academic year contract with possible annual renewal for up to three years total. Start date for the position is August 1, 2020.

Possible topics could include 3D animation (Maya), 2D animation, motion graphics, special visual effects, television graphics, stop-motion animation, and animation history.

The successful candidate must be able to teach courses related to the creative application of the above topics using current industry standard tools.

Training and experience in visual media and/or art expected.

Candidates should have experience with Autodesk Maya, Adobe Creative Suite and other high-end animation, imaging and editing software. Experience with Ross XPressions or other graphics system is a plus.

Required Education

Position requires a Master’s degree or higher in Animation or closely related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Animation or a closely related field with 10 years demonstrated exceptional professional industry experience.
