Senior Accountant

Description

SCAD seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee various aspects of the university’s financial well-being.

In this position, you will be responsible for performing general accounting functions to support the monthly financial close, ongoing evaluation of financial results, the annual audit, and statutory audits. Responsibilities may include accounting for deferred revenue/scholarships, fixed assets, auxiliary activity, preparing and posting journal entries, preparing bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations, and support for tax return preparation.

The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, including meaningful experience using pivot tables. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of the Banner system as well as Cognos reporting.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Four or more years of accounting experience
- CPA or CMA certification may be considered in lieu of experience
