Professor of Production Design: Design for Stage
Description
SCAD seeks a Professor of Production Design for its Savannah location within the SCAD School of Entertainment Arts.
In this position, you will create professionally oriented learning experiences for students pursuing degrees in production design, film and television, performing arts, themed entertainment design, and sound design. Using your design expertise and professional knowledge, you will be an integral part of a collaborative faculty team that prepares the next generation of production designers through curricular offerings that mirror professional production practices.
The ideal candidate has a proficiency in professional visualization techniques and methods as well as experience with themed attractions and immersive experiences. Digital design knowledge and scale model-making skills are preferred.
SCAD production design professors lead the only program in the U.S. to offer a comprehensive approach to entertainment design, including set design and art direction for film and television, stage productions, live events, theme parks, and immersive attractions. Requirements:
– Terminal degree or equivalent in production design or a related field
– Professional experience as a production designer or art director, preferably in film and television
– Portfolio of professional work
