Professor of Production Design

Description

In this Savannah-based faculty position within the SCAD School of Entertainment Arts, you will create professionally oriented learning experiences for students pursuing degrees in production design, film and television, performing arts, themed entertainment design, and sound design. Using your design expertise and professional knowledge, you will be an integral part of a collaborative faculty team that prepares the next generation of production designers through curricular offerings that mirror professional production practices.

SCAD production design professors lead the only program in the U.S. to offer a comprehensive approach to entertainment design, including set design and art direction for film and television, stage productions, live events, theme parks, and immersive attractions. As Georgia’s thriving film and television industry continues to expand, SCAD seeks an experienced production design professor who can educate and motivate students as they take advantage of the region’s burgeoning entertainment production opportunities. Winners of multiple awards, from Walt Disney Imagineering’s Imaginations Design Competitions to the 2017 Student Emmy for Best Scripted Series, SCAD students succeed because of the top-level knowledge taught in their production design classes.

Named among the best small cities in the U.S by Condé Nast Traveler and listed by MovieMaker magazine as one of the best small cities to live and work as a filmmaker, Savannah offers an inviting climate and a culturally rich downtown, providing a real-world workshop for the study of art and design. The university blends seamlessly into the Savannah landscape and provides students with a dynamically layered learning environment in which to thrive.
