Part-Time Professor of Interior Design


SCAD seeks a Part-Time Professor of Interior Design for its Atlanta location.

As a SCAD professor, you have the opportunity to provide students the expertise and fluency to employ theory, culture, materiality, and function in the design of interior spaces. Working with an engaging, diverse, and talented international student body, the ideal candidate will have a strong professional portfolio as well as teaching experience in conceptual design, design development, oral and visual presentation, space planning, FF&E, sustainability, materials, regulatory compliance, and the preparation of construction documents.

Consistently ranked the top program in the U.S. by DesignIntelligence, SCAD’s interior design offers unparalleled learning experiences that prepare students to excel at top global firms. SCAD students draw on the knowledge and skills gained in interior design courses to win numerous honors from organizations such as the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Interior Design, and Contract magazine.

-M.F.A. or its equivalent in interior design or related field
-Portfolio of professional design work
-Experience with professional visualization and electronic design techniques and applications
-University-level teaching experience preferred
-National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification preferred
