VP, Immersive Executive Producer

The Vice President Immersive Executive Producer is responsible for producing and delivering the Immersive portfolio for MSG Sphere, ensuring that we are delivering the world’s best immersive experiences for visitors to the Sphere. The benchmark is world class, with a strong leading edge of story, interaction and spectacle. The role will involve producing multiple work streams concurrently and reports to the Senior Vice President of Immersive Development and Production. The role is responsible for developing optimized processes for Immersive production and will lead all Producers and projects managers in the department in delivering all immersive content for the MSG Sphere. This position also serves as a creative advisor across multiple MSG divisions as stakeholders in the Sphere.

The position requires an entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record of Immersive production at scale and a strong proficiency in the technologies that drive the workflow and delivery of world class creative projects. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with clearly demonstrated leadership through hands on direction and operational prowess.

Specific Functions/Activities:

  • Accountability for overall Production schedule and delivery for all Immersive activities. Including managing multiple simultaneous workstreams and overseeing overall production budget management.
  • Building out production requirements and timelines, casting the team and forecasting progress against project milestones and budgets, ensuring visibility to executive stakeholders.
  • Build a healthy and successful creative and production team that thrives on the challenge of creating world class work.
  • Build relationships, negotiate and partner with a strong global network of relationships with artists, production designers and the teams required to develop and deliver immersive projects
  • Create a culture within your team of constructive feedback, both individually and as a group.
  • Oversee and guide the team and our partners to ensure quality control through the full lifecycle of projects
  • Lead and advocate for delivery best practices, comfortably challenge where needed and provide alternative approaches and solutions.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the emerging technologies that feed creative and immersive production and be able to partner with technology teams to ensure best in class solutions.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years’ experience within Creative digital, interactive and immersive production and physical activations, with 5+ years in either a production or account director role.
  • You have established roots in the industry and have deep relationships across all relevant industry sectors and with 3rd party vendors to ensure the best partnerships are utilized for our projects.
  • You use a range of project management tools (e.g. Shotgun, TeamGantt, etc)
  • Domain knowledge of VFX, commercial and film markets alongside core experiential knowledge
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience within Creative Immersive Production with associated digital, interactive and creative technology production with 5 years in a senior role with accountability for large scale projects. Extensive prior experience leading creative, production and technology teams on new project briefings, pitch development and production through delivery.
  • Must have strong leadership skills, the ability to inspire and motivate a large diverse workforce based in multiple locations.
  • Must be creative and have a well-developed sense of storytelling.
  • Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills. Can clearly represent both creative goals, technology strategy and requirements.
  • Must have excellent collaboration skills and instincts and be able to work as a partner with multiple stakeholders across the MSG business.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for the budget, strong negotiation and analytical skills and financial well-being of past projects.
  • Must have passion and enthusiasm for all things immersive and an affinity for MSG Sphere.
  • Must be able to travel for the role when required
