Professor of Foundation Studies

Description

SCAD Atlanta seeks a full-time Professor of Foundation Studies to help lead its thoughtfully curated series of courses providing undergraduate students with a studio foundation.

In this role, you’ll be an essential part of SCAD’s foundation studies team that inspires students to develop innovative solutions, advance drawing and design skills, and build the visual language essential to their future creative careers. The skills attained in foundation studies courses at SCAD propel students into major-specific disciplines where their achievements are internationally recognized with honors such as the Emerging Product Designer of the Year presented by the European Product Design Awards, the CFDA Geoffrey Beene Design Scholarship Award, the Student Emmy Award for Best Scripted Series, and more.

The ideal candidate will have university-level teaching experience, a strong portfolio of professional work and the ability to teach drawing and design classes in an active and engaging learning environment. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

One of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., Atlanta provides professionals an ideal environment in which to live, work, and play. Located in the heart of Midtown, SCAD Atlanta is home to a dynamic cultural landscape that includes excellent dining, theaters, museums, fine art galleries, bustling shops, and countless green spaces, including Piedmont Park and Atlanta’s famed BeltLine. The capital of the New South, Atlanta provides both Southern charm and the dynamism of an alpha city.
