ROLE: SENIOR LIGHTER
REPORTING TO: LIGHTING SUPERVISOR

SUMMARY OF ROLE:
As part of Hasbro Entertainment, Boulder Media is building a new feature animation division. We are excited to offer a talented Senior Lighter the opportunity to join our very successful and established animation studio as we expand into a new area. We will be producing the first CG theatrical feature film made entirely in Ireland. The movie is based on a very well-known Hasbro property and we can’t wait to bring it to the big screen for the first time.
The Senior Lighting Artist works under the supervision of the Lighting Supervisor. He/she is responsible for the Sequence lighting of shots for the full CGI feature film.
Designs, implements and establishes key shots lighting for a given sequence that meet the art and direction while respecting the technical requirements of the project.

Responsibilities:
· Light and Render key CG Shots
· Defines standards and techniques for lighting a sequence
· Collaborate with the lighting Supervisor, and other Sequence seniors on technically and visual solutions
· Provide leadership for production lighting team both creatively and technically
· Ensure that lighting setups are clean well documented, modular and easily applicable to other shots
· Initiate, set up, organize and document any processes on a global or sequence level
· Mentor Lighters and junior lighters and ensure that they technically and aesthetically achieve look of the sequence.
· Comp shots
· Ensure that Lighters shots fit continuity of the sequence.
· Collaborate with departments concerned by lighting work
· Execute the corrections requested by the Lighting Supervisor and the Director
· Maintain timing and production quotas given by the Lighting Supervisor and the production coordinator
· Organize and prepare his/her sequence presentation for approval on dailies
· Mentoring, guiding and Training Junior lighters when required
· Maintain a good team dynamic
Person Specification:
· College diploma or equivalent in 3D computer graphics experience
· Minimum 3 years of working experience as Senior Lighting Artist, in a film production environment or visual effects
· Experience with Arnold
· Good knowledge of Katana
· Good Knowledge of NUKE
· Knowledge of an asset manager as SHOTGUN
· Be comfortable with a LINUX / UNIX environment is a plus
