Role Summary

The Sr. Application Packaging Specialist will work closely with Studio Technology team and Production teams reporting into the Director Studio Infrastructure. The Sr. Application Packaging Specialist will be responsible for creation deployment of packages, prepare them for testing, impart changes required by test team, and ensure all changes meet the Studio customer’s needs. The Sr. Application Packaging Specialist must work towards improving automation of deployment in support of all infrastructure, render and VFX functions.

Specific Functions/Activities 

  • The Application Packaging Specialist conducts a periodic review of existing applications for version control and licensing requirements
  • The Sr. Application Packaging Specialist is responsible for Packaging, testing, maintaining, releasing, and monitoring applications and in multiple operating systems
  • He/She will ensure compliance with Corporate IT policies, and deployment requirements This job involves tackling various infrastructure issues, tracking licensing entitlements, performance tuning, processing Studio requests and contributing to the smooth functioning of the organization. The specialist will interact with the technical support, managed support, and service provisioning teams. The specialist will assist first-line application support.
  • The Application Packaging Specialist will offer technical assistance in regard to implementation, and integration applications. He/She will help in designing and implementing analytical research, design development, and other assignments as required. He/She performs various complex deployment tasks. They ensure delivery of applications using approved and tested industry standards with repeatable processes.
  • Participate in a 24x7 call-out rotation

Qualifications

  • Possess advanced technical knowledge on software packaging and installation, coding, and/or scripting skills:
  • Batch command-line
  • MSI and MSIX (Windows Installer)
  • PowerShell
  • Bash
  • Ghost or other image creation tools
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Be well versed with application delivery technologies, such as Intune and SCCM
  • Expert knowledge of Linux, MS Win10/2012/2016 and OSX
  • Must be resourceful and possess the ability and willingness to take initiative
  • At least 3-5 years of Studio/Creative complex application packaging and deployment experience – applicant must be “hands on keyboard” with the ability to technically troubleshoot application related issues
  • Previous experience within an enterprise level company supporting all applications; Hands on experience in cloud, locally and server deployed
  • Proven hands on experience deploying various tool sets in support of Studio application requirements – has integration experience working with event correlation platforms and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • 3-5 years of working with enterprise systems platforms such as compute, storage, data centers and automation
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or computer engineering is preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience with advanced server/storage operations utilizing various product platforms such as virtualization, VFX platforms, Render and general infrastructure
  • On-Call rotation with other team members
